'Dottie lived next door to our grandparents the entire time they resided on Tuttle Rd. Our visits to TX we're always bookended by visits with Dottie. Even before the plane landed, my brothers and I would make our plan to go see Dottie (and Col. Webber). Much to the shagrin of our own granny at times, we would hardly set foot in her house before we were racing across the backyard and ringing the bell at Dottie's back door. Missy, and later Buffy, would greet us first, then Dottie. What's funny is that I don't exactly remember what all we would do over there - play with the pups, maybe a tea party (her house always looked to me like it was set for important visitors - like the Queen!) but mostly I think we just watched tv and chatted. Then, before we left town she would pop over for the obligatory family photo op- first she would take one and then, of course, she would be in one. Even after my granny moved away, a trip to San Antonio was never complete without a visit to see Dottie. So many of our family memories include Dottie and I am very grateful for that.'
