

She was born with her twin sister Ruth in Paris, TX on July 8, 1910 and was the daughter of Rev. James Henry Griffin and Lilie Keith Griffin.
Following her father's sudden death in 1915 Dorothy grew up in Batesville, Arkansas and graduated from Arkansas College in 1931. She met Joseph A. Wyatt and they married on June 6, 1942, in Dallas, TX. With Joe enlisting in the Army Air Corp they shared their life in the Air Force in many cities and countries until his retirement in 1969.
As a home maker they celebrated 65 years of marriage until Joe's death in 2007. Dorothy was a long time member of Alamo Heights United Methodist Church where she served as an officer in the United Methodist Women. Dorothy was also active in civic organizations that included the Board of Boysville; the Eastern Star; the M.O.W.W. of San Antonio; and the Knife and Fork Club of San Antonio.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sisters; two brothers and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Dorothy is survived by her children, Joann and husband, Warner Fassnidge of San Antonio and Rev. Keith Wyatt and wife, Molly of Seguin, TX; five grandchildren, Brian Webster and wife, Amye, Sarah Carter and husband, Chris, Amy Atkinson and husband, Danny, Katherine Laird and husband, Rick and Rebecca Dueitt and husband, Drew. She is also survived by eight great grandchildren.
