'I did not know Doug for a very long time. But he was a very very dear friend and I am missing him tremendously. I'll always remember walking around Monte Vista neighborhood one lovely day with Doug as he pointed out all the places he and his family had lived. As we walked, he picked out houses he liked and told me exactly how he would remodel them. Then we went over to Trinity University and he showed me his old dorm room and all his other favorite places on campus. He told me later how much he loved that walk, and I did too. 
Another time I was with Doug at his house and somehow he found out that I'd never seen Forest Gump. He couldn't believe I'd gone all these years without seeing that movie. So he sat me down, got out his well-worn copy of the movie, and we watched it. I'll always remember how much Doug laughed and cried at that movie and how much he wanted to share Forest Gump with me.

'I worked with Doug for many years & can honestly say that our workplace & our lives will not be the same without him. He brought a lot of love & laughter to many lives.'

Although I didn't know Doug, just saw him occassionally at Trinity, I feel like I do know him and your family. I did not have Dr. Brackenridge for any classes, but I was that guy who was always in the gym checking I.D.s back in the mid- to late-70s! So I ran into Senior and Junior often. In addition, I am good childhood friends with Jim Lowry and his family, Dr. and Mrs. Lowry. I went to high school with Jim and still get together with him. I was in Jim's wedding that Dr. Brackenridge presided over. Later, I submitted what I had for the Trinity history book by Dr. Brackenridge and helped him get in touch with some people. Although you do not know me, you have touched my life as well as many others. My thoughts and prayers are with you in this tough time for your family. I am very sorry and wish I could something that could help. Please know that you are all loved by many and will get many prayers offered for Doug. He will not be lonely.
