He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia Coggins Russell. Also, his four children: Curt Rhodes and his wife, Marilena of Dallas, Jim Rhodes and his wife, Bianca of San Antonio, Nancy McNamara and her husband, Patrick of Middlebury, Connecticut and Jean Wittrup and her husband, Dane of Boston, Massachusetts. Doug was also survived by four step grandchildren: Denise Luker and her husband, Gary of Houston, Cheryl Williams and her husband, Tom of Lexington, TX; and from San Antonio, Laura Guevara and her husband, Frank and Craig Coggins and his wife, Yael. Doug leaves behind nineteen grandchildren, who all loved him dearly.
Mr. Russell was a Purple Heart Recipient in World War II.
