His role as a grandfather was one of his greatest joys, providing guidance and creating memories with his grandchildren, Taylor Hall (David), Sam Long (Sara), Katie Davidson (Cody), Rachael Moore, Jackson Moore, Celeste Tober (Jon), Vanessa Case (Aaron), Gray Kilpatrick (Alex), Kim Martin (Nathan). And, his 12 great-grandchildren, Bryce Tober; Collin, Charlotte and Koralyn Davidson; Smith and Cross Case; Rhett Kilpatrick; Ellie Long; David, Jr and Daisy Hall; Lake and Lofton Martin.
Al enjoyed singing in the church choir, where he enjoyed sharing his love of music with the congregation. A lifelong learner and an avid reader, he found joy in the pages of books, and studying the Bible. Al also maintained a healthy lifestyle through exercising. Al leaves behind a legacy of courage, wisdom, and love. His life was a beacon of service, education, and family values that touched so many. His influence will continue to be felt in the lives of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
