Dr. Evan Manuel Hersh

Dr. Evan M. Hersh, MD., age 86, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Monday, March 22, 2021 in San Antonio, Texas. Dr Hersh was born March 18, 1935 in New York, New York to Bianca Pincu Hersh and Leo Hersh.

He attended City College of New York, Columbia University Medical School and completed further training at Stanford University followed by working at National Institute of Health. Dr. Hersh spent 20 years at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston TX. He then was Professor of Medicine at the University of Arizona Cancer Center.

Throughout his career he provided care to many cancer patients and was responsible for many advances in cancer treatment. He was also well known for his many Medical Publications throughout the years.

Evan was a beloved husband, Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather and will be dearly missed by all that knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Miriam Tzur. He is survived by his loving wife, Lydia S. Hersh; children, Mark and Jennifer Hersh, Daren and Sara Hersh, and Carolyn and Chris Kohnhorst; grandchildren, David and his wife Christina, Sam, Lauren, Emily, Rachel, and Robin, and great-granddaughter, Olivia.
