Ed is greatly missed and I hope he was able to see his true impact on the staff and students of Rodriguez. It has always been evident and his impact shines through today. 
I will miss his kind nature, stories, and smiles. I was grateful for the connection we had when it came to law and police work. Miss you Ed.

Ed will be dearly missed at Rodriguez.  He was the heart of our school and loved all our students.  I will miss see his smiling face everyday.   I am so sorry for your loss. Know we will continue to keep Ed and his family in our hearts and prayers and always carry him with us.

Ed will be missed at Rodriguez. He is such an important part of our daily life. My first memory of Ed was when the PTO asked him to dress as The Grinch while we passed out candy canes. One of the kids said, “That’s Mr. V! I can see his skin!”  I said, “The Grinch has alopecia!”. That was the first time I heard Ed laugh. He will forever be part of our family!

Dearest cousin, you left us too soon but we will see you again one day.. In the mean time,  we will miss you and celebrate the time we had with you. May you rest in peace.

Although I did not meet Ed in person, you honored him daily when you shared how kind, patient, generous with his time, loving and humorous a person that he was.  In the years you had together you formed a full life and loving family.  That family will support you and help you keep Ed's memory alive in the future and in thanking God for his life.

Ed was more than our safety officer — he was the heartbeat of our school community. He had a rare gift for connection, taking time to truly know each student. Those friendships he formed weren’t incidental to his role; they were his role, lived out in the hallways every single day.
He showed up for people in the quiet, consistent ways that matter most — always willing to lend a hand, offer support, or simply be present when someone needed it. He made our campus feel safe not just physically, but in the deeper sense: the kind of safety that comes from knowing someone genuinely has your back.
And then there was his silly side — the laugh, the joke at just the right moment — that reminded us all not to take life too seriously. He held both things beautifully: the steady reassurance of someone you could count on, and the lightness of someone who knew how to make you smile.
He leaves behind a community that is quieter without him, and better for having known him.

Mr. Ed,
I will forever miss our daily talks about life, guns, your stories as an officer or even how the kids thought you were my grandpa. Everyday i walked into school i would be greeted with your smile. You have no idea how much of an impact you had on my life in just these short few months. You will definitely be missed dearly. We love you Ed aka grandpa!
