Edwin Oliver Sarratt, III

Ed was an alumnus of Central Catholic High School, from which he graduated in 1949, and University of Notre Dame, from which he received his Bachelor of Science of Commerce degree, cum laude, in 1953.

A Certified Public Accountant, Ed retired as Vice President and Treasurer of Edwin M. Jones Oil Company in 1997 after 35 years of service and was a May 2009, 50-year honoree of the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy.

He also was an active member, serving at times as an officer, of several professional, civic and social organizations, including the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants, San Antonio Estate Planners Council, Notre Dame Club of San Antonio, Central Catholic Alumni Association, Society of Mayflower Descendants, San Antonio Astronomical Association and Stylemasters Square Dance Club.

Preceded in death by his parents and brother, William Duncan Sarratt, Ed is survived by his nephew, Edwin F. Sarratt and wife, Kirsten, of Scottsdale, Arizona and nieces, Tracy Summers and husband, Keith, of Derby, Kansas and Patricia Baker of Wichita, Kansas.

Funeral services will be Monday, January 12th at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 600 Oblate Drive, beginning with recitation of the Rosary at 1:00 pm followed by a funeral Mass at 1:30 pm and burial at Sunset Memorial Park, 1701 Austin Highway at 3:00 pm.
