We have lost a very dear friend. We shared many good times over the years with her and Glen and Buddy and Sharon. She is at peace and with Glen again.

My dear sweet sister .. how different my world will be without you in it. I love you so much and just can’t believe that this has actually happened. I’m so grateful that we are of the same family, can’t even imagine my life without you in it.
I know that you have had such a wonderful reunion with Glen, Mom, Camille and Carole and I am almost envious. So grateful for our hour long talks on the phone and will certainly miss them.  Thank you for being the big sister that you have been you will forever be in my heart. I love you forever ..  your sister Brenda

Dear Mom,

I miss you so much.
I cannot believe that you are gone from this earth.
My heart cannot believe it.
So many things have changed.  
But the one thing that stands out most in my mind is…
Your life made a difference in mine.
The Godly example that you set for me to follow in the years that you were my mom will lead me all my life.
And the example of faith that you showed has touched not only my heart, but many others.
I will never be the same, Mom.
You have set my mind on heavenly things.
You helped to change my perspective on what really matters most in this life, and I am forever grateful.
Mom, You taught us not to be bitter or angry, but to TRUST GOD to take care of us.
I am still amazed at how blessed we all felt throughout our lives.  And I am amazed even more by all the blessings that God has sent down on our family.
And then it dawned on me.  Mom… YOU were the BLESSING!
YOU WERE THE BLESSING!!!

We all miss you so much!  You are “one of a kind”.  I will miss our talks on the phone.  
I know you would be proud of us, Mom.  We’ve tried to honor God with our lives.  And we’ve tried to honor you as well.

How good it is to know that a mother’s love never ends.  It never stops giving.  I hear your voice all the time, leading me, guiding me, and encouraging me.

Even though there are so many miles between all of our loved ones, it will never change the fact that this family has a special connection. Have always loved you Aunt Elayne, you are so beautiful inside and out.
I will always remember your laugh and the funny stories my Mom, her sister Carole would share about their childhood days.

life is so full of unexpected surprises! We didn't see this coming Aunt Elayne. We didn't know you were gonna go home this week. So many things we might have said and done one last time. 
You and I lived so far apart for most of my life and I've not yet made the trip to Texas. But our family is one for staying in touch and I appreciate that we did.  Thank-you for those early years in Raymond and Great Falls so that I could get to know my cousins and build some memories with them. Thank-you for coming to Alberta as often as you did, and for attending reunions so that I would know you. Thank-you for being a good big sister to my mom, so that I could know you better through her. Thank-you for driving all the way to Cold Lake with the kids that once-upon-a-time when Buddy was little. Never to be forgotten. Thank-you for that infectious laugh so that I would remember you. Thank-you for having great kids who I have come to know better the last few years, and who I have come to love. 
I am so grateful for the gospel that reassures me you are with Uncle Glen and Bev, and Gramma. I am grateful for the gospel that reassures me we will meet again when miles between us won't be an issue.

My Aunt Elaine is  and was a beautiful person. She seemed to have a  close relationship with my mother, ( Carole PATEY)  so I knew more about her and life experiences  . Life is about how someone makes you feel when it is important. My dear Aunt called me a few times when mom died and reminded me how  much mom loved  me, when I was feeling Low. That ment the world to me.

Aunt Elayne always had a way with words!  She loved licorice - ice cream, milk shakes, licorice cigars, you name it!  I loved her discription of  waht she considered the best milkshake - "so thick you turn yourself inside out sucking on the straw".  She could talk and talk and always had something interesting to say.  Great laugh, loved life, loved her family, loved everyone!  She will be very much missed, I am so grateful to have been part of her family!

Elayne was preceded in death by her parents, Owen and Annie Larsen; her husband of nearly 50 years, CMS Glen R. Harris (USAF Ret); her sisters, Carole, and Camille; her daughter, Beverly Hoffman, and her granddaughter, Emerald Hoffman.  She is survived by her siblings, Luella, Ron, Brenda, Lois, and Tom, her children, Randy Nalder (Susie), Jo-Ellen Lawhon (Larry), Linda Schuchert (Scott), Sharon Jones (Basil) and Glen “Buddy” Harris II (Lucy); 20 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, and 16 great-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
