
This YMCA family moved many times. From Providence to New Haven, CT; Dallas, TX; Seattle, WA and in 1959 moved to San Antonio.
She was preceded in death by her husband, E. Douglas Boyden.
Betty was a faithful YMCA wife, mother of 4, NEISD secretary for 22 years, active in PEO, and was a member of St. Andrew's Methodist church for 45 years. She was a devoted member of the choir and enjoyed taking part in many of the choir theater productions.
For those who knew her well, she will be remembered as being very giving and kind, and having a wonderful wit and sense of humor.
Mrs. Boyden is survived by her children, Douglas T. Boyden and wife, Nancy of Bellevue, WA, David M. Boyden and wife, Frenchie of Houston, Paula Boyden Browning and husband, Joe of San Antonio, and Bruce H. Boyden of Gonzales; grandchildren, Christine Tinkler and husband, Dan, Dana Grimes and husband, Allan of Houston, Christina Fitzpatrick and husband, Mark of Seattle, WA, Todd Douglas Boyden and Shannon Johnston of Tolar, TX, Stephanie Eckman and husband, Les of Honolulu, Scott Boyden Leonard and wife, Cara of Ft. Worth; great grandchildren, Lauren, Logan and Macy Tinkler, Matthew, Matison and Mason Grimes of Houston, Ty Johnston, Mallory Boyden of Tolar, TX, Cassidy Leonard Pope, Lenn, Leah and Spencer Eckman of Honolulu; brother-in-law, John Attkisson of Birmingham, AL; 2 nephews and 5 nieces.
The Boyden family would like to thank the staff at Brighton Garden's, and for the last 2 years the wonderful staff and the devoted caregivers at Arden Court, and most recently Vista Care Hospice. Their care was most gracious and kind.
