He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, LaNelle B. Anderson and sister, LaMae Urbik.
He is survived by sister, Imogene Hill; son, Dennis H. Anderson; daughters, Lydia Beth Jay (Ron) and Nancy G. Moore (Brian); granddaughter, Ashley Dickenson (Justin) and great-grandson, Preston and niece, Joan Clark (Bill). He is also survived by close friend and dear companion, Betty H. Reid.
Special gratitude is also extended to his caregiver, Epi Romero.
Elmer was born in Anchorage, Texas (Atascosa County) and raised in Kyote, Texas.
He was a WWII veteran and worked for the U.S. Postal Service in San Antonio retiring after 41 years.
He was a member of the Castle Hills First Baptist Church and a member of Hermann Sons (Harmonia Lodge No.1).
A private graveside service will be held on Friday, January 8, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Sand Branch Cemetery on FM 2504 near Kyote, Texas. Rev. Stanley Harvey will officiate.
