Eloy A. Ramirez, age 93, passed away on June 10, 2018 after a fulfilled life. Born to Antonio and Rita Ramirez of Realitos, TX on March 27, 1925, and spent his final days in Leon Valley surrounded by his wife and children.
Survived by his wife, Rachel Ramirez; six children, Patricia (Fernando)Covarrubia, Eloy Ramirez Jr., Martha (Paul) Ramos, Marie Ramirez, Richard (Nena) Ramirez, Elizabeth Ramirez; eleven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren and a sister, Delia Acebo
Eloy grew up in Realitos, Texas before moving back to San Antonio to work as a member of the Texas National Guard during WW II. After the war, Eloy took a job as a butcher. It was while working that a young woman who frequented the butcher shop caught his eye. That young woman, Rachel, would go on to become his wife of 67 long and loving years.
Eloy will be remembered as a man of faith who could build or fix anything. To those who knew him best, he was a man who put family first, had a kind heart, and who always had a perfectly timed joke

A rosary will be held at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home on Thursday, June 14, 2018 at 7:00 pm. Funeral services will begin at St. Brigid Catholic Church at 10:00 am on Friday, June 15, 2018 with interment to follow at San Fernando #3.
