Emilio Vargas entered into eternal rest on September 13, 2022 at the tender age of 82. He was born in San Antonio, TX on July 7, 1940 to Soila Farias and Jesus Vargas. He was the youngest of 5 children. Because of his small size he was called "Pee Wee' by his family.
Due to his poor eyesight he became a client of the Lighthouse of the Blind. Emilio was a graduate of Lanire High School in 1959. He was employed at La Feria as a furniture manager where he worked for many years. He enjoyed the music of the 50's + 60's and often sang along and at times would play his maracas. Later in life, he went blind but he still loved listening to music, listening to detective shows and with help he played bingo. He enjoyed the weekends when his son, Edward, would bring him a barbacoa taco and powdered donuts, which his niece Gina introduced him too.
He will be reunited in heaven with his parents, Soila and Jesus Vargas, sister Margaret (Joe) Lozano, brothers Jesse "Champ" (Delia), Paul (Gloria) and Benny Vargas.
Emilio's memory will always live in his sons, Oscar Vargas, and Edward Ray (Pollyanna) Vargas; grandsons Edward Ray Jr. (Rebecca), Michael James, and Thomas Allen (Katrina); great grandchildren, Xavier Ray and Adisyn Marie and numerous nieces and nephews.
He lived his life the way he wanted and passed on the way he wanted, listening to his music.
