Enriqueta Flores Garcia, 89, went home to our Lord Jesus Christ on Sunday, March 14, 2021 in Duncanville, TX. She was born on January 23, 1932 in San Diego, TX to Gregorio and Adelaida Flores. On April 26, 1953, she married Antonio Garcia.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Enriqueta was the kindest person one could meet, always supportive, generous and willing to help; Enriqueta will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Enriqueta found happiness in many things. For several years, she coached Men’s, Women’s, and co-ed softball and enjoyed coaching co-ed volleyball. She loved watching her daytime soap operas and the Hallmark Channel, playing card games, Loteria and the penny slots at the casinos. She brought her family and friends together with her wonderful cooking and celebrations. She will forever be remembered for her hard work, her dedication to her family and most of all, her smile.
She gave her life to Christ and was a devout member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church in San Antonio, TX followed by Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Duncanville, TX. Enriqueta was preceded in death by her parents Gregorio and Adelaida Flores; her siblings George Flores, Raymond Flores, Fredrico Flores, Frank Flores, Cruz Ochoa, Dolores Pena, daughter Sylvia Garcia and son Charles Patrick Garcia. She is survived by her husband Antonio Garcia; her daughters Herlinda Zavala (Fred), JoAnn Garcia, Yolanda Garcia-Griffith (Patrick), Betty Garibay (Mike), Cathy Luna (Albert), Bethany Garcia; her sons Mark Garcia, David Garcia (Rachel), Antonio Garcia (Norma), Joshua Garcia (Sara); her brother Rufino Flores (Connie). She is also survived by her 20 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren. Enriqueta’s heart was so big, she welcomed Sabina Huston and Rita McBride along with their children as her extended family.
Mass was held at 11:00am on Friday March 19, 2021 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Duncanville, TX.
Memorial Service will be held on Friday April 9, 2021 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in San Antonio, TX. Dedication at 10:30 followed by Rosary and Mass. As a safety precaution, the family requests that all attending wear a mask and practice social distance etiquette.
Under the care of Sunset Memorial Park and Funeral Home in San Antonio, TX, a private graveside service will be for immediate family only.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Parkinson Disease Association.
