She attended the University of Champaign Urbana in Illinois, where her husband also taught. They moved to northern California, where she worked as a secretary with the public schools and her husband taught at Cal State - Chico.
She moved to San Antonio in the summer of 1980, where she resided in the same house until her passing.
Her husband, Marvin Easterling, preceded her in death.
She is survived by her daughter, Tanya Clark and husband, Kenneth; grandsons, Kyle Clark, all of San Antonio; and Jerod Clark of College Station; nieces, Sheri Lynde, Valerie Berhhardt, and Lisa Makin.
