

Esther Gage Turner, widow of the late James H. Turner, died Tuesday, January 23, 2007. She was born February 8, 1907 in San Antonio, and has been a lifelong resident. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Albert Gage, Sr.
Mrs. Turner was a member of Christ Episcopal Church. She was an Honorary Member of the Battle of Flowers Association, a life member of the Spade and Trowel Garden Club and the Live Oak Garden Club, former member of the Inner Wheel, a 45-year member of The San Antonio Country Club and was a life member of the San Antonio Zoological Society. Mrs. Turner served two three-year terms on the San Antonio Botanical Board Association.
She graduated from Main Avenue High School, attended Incarnate Word College before entering the Manchester Institute of Arts and Sciences in Manchester, New Hampshire.
After two years, she returned to continue Art Studies in San Antonio.
She is survived by her nephew, Theodore Allen; great nephews, Christopher Gage, George A. Gage, Jeffrey A. Gage and Russell Morgan Gage; step grandchildren, James R. Tabone, Lorraine Pavliske, Gordon Tabone and Monica Tabone. The family will receive friends Saturday, January 27th beginning at 12:30 p.m. at Mission Burial Park South.
