Eudelia C. Chavez

She was born April 21, 1937, in Cementville, Texas - the area that is now known as the Quarry - to Guadalupe (Falcon) and Ricardo Castillo. She graduated from Alamo Heights High School.

Eudelia was a devoted wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and great grandmother whose life was rooted in faith and family. Her family was her greatest joy, and she expressed her love not only though words, but through the work of her hands.

A gifted and dedicated crafter, Eudelia could sew nearly anything imaginable. She was especially known for her beautiful quilts, each one made with care, patience, and love. She also lovingly crafted rosaries for family members and friends, gifts that reflected both her faith and her generous heart.

Eudelia is now reunited with her beloved husband, Adolph Chavez Sr, who proceeded her in death on February 22, 2008 --- almost exactly 18 years before her passing. Their reunion brings comfort to those who knew the deep love they shared. She was also preceded in death by her parents and her four siblings. Eudelia is survived by her children, Adolph Chavez Jr., Nancy E. Chavez, Karen Chavez, and Eric J. Chavez Sr. and wife Sandra V. Chavez; grandchildren, Eric J. Chavez Jr.- (Zuhey), Kassandra A. Marshall - (Scott), Jeremy W. Chavez - ( Sierra), Destiny Sifuentes, Prescila M. Garcia - (Adrian), Mario C. Hernandez -(Leandra): 18 great-children; sister, Ofelia Yzanga: as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Her legacy lives on in the warmth of her quilts, the rosaries held by loved ones, and the many lives she touched through simply love.

The family will receive family and friends for visitation on Thursday, March 5, 2026, from 6:00-7:00 pm at Porter Loring Mortuary, located at 1101 McCullough Ave, San Antonio, TX, 78212. The Rosary will begin at 7:00pm. Eudelia's funeral mass will be celebrated Friday, March 6, 2026, at 10:00am at St. Ann Catholic Church, located at 210 St. Ann St, San Antonio, TX, 78201. Following mass, a procession will depart for San Fernando Cemetery III.
