Eugene Flores Ruiz entered into the loving arms of our Lord to rest in His glory on April 10, 2021, at the age of 86 years old. He was born in San Antonio, Texas, to Edward Ruiz, Sr. and Celia Flores on September 5, 1934.
Eugene entered to serve his county in 1957 at the age of 23 years old. After serving in the United States Army, he worked in the family business off Poplar Street in San Antonio. He helped refurnish furniture, where Eugene discovered his ability to match the original furniture and create a new breath. He later met Gloria, and they got married in 1960. Eugene and Gloria later decided to move to California for work, where they raised a daughter, Rhonda. Eugene was a popcorn and ice cream enthusiast, never turning down the opportunity for a sweet or salty snack. After Gloria’s passing, Eugene moved back to San Antonio, where he was welcomed to the New Beginnings International House of Worship family. Eugene was ordained and established as "Pop's" taking the title of Pops of the House in New Beginnings International House of Worship while he attended services.
He will be reunited in heaven with his parents, his beloved wife, and the rest of the family that has met with the Lord.
Eugene will always be remembered by his loving daughter, Rhonda Albaugh, and husband Lloyd; grandchildren, Duane C Albaugh, Lloyd Albaugh, Jr., and Brian K Albaugh; great-grandchildren, Sabrina and David Gallegos; siblings, Roland Ruiz. Not to leave out his church family, including Apostle Margo & Lorenn Shields Johnson, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends made along the journey.
The family of Eugene Ruiz would like to thank all of the staff at Vitas Healthcare that helped care for his well-being, the nurses and doctors of Brooke Army Medical Center, to create a safe environment where the main priority was his health. And the staff of Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery for helping the family gather to celebrate the journey Eugene took towards the arrival of his eternal home.
