Eugene “Geno” Webb, affectionately known as “Bubba” to his loved ones, was a beacon of joy and generosity in the lives of all who knew him. Born on October 18, 1975, in Waco, Texas, to his mama, Eva Marie Webb. Geno embraced the world with a spirit of adventure and kindness. His journey on this earth came to a close on July 18, 2025, in San Antonio, Texas.
Geno's early years in the Waco/Bellmead area were marked by a zest for life and learning. As a proud graduate of La Vega High School in 1994, he carried the values of hard work and dedication into his service to his country. A Navy and Gulf War Veteran, Geno's commitment to others extended far beyond his military service, as he continued to serve his community through his work with the U.S. Post Office. His selflessness and dedication to service were the cornerstones of his character.
Family was the center of Geno's universe. Geno was preceded in death by his mother, Eva Marie Webb. Geno's legacy is also carried on by his son Daylon Collins, his wife Carly, and their children Jaxson, Carson, and Tori; his daughter Lauren Downey, her husband Tucker, and their children Lorelai and Leo; and his sister Elizabeth Argetsinger, her husband John Argetsinger, and their three daughters. The family tree flourished with his many great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces, and great-great nephews, all of whom will remember him fondly. Geno met his "Love" and common-law wife, Jennifer, in San Antonio where they built a life together along with Jennifer’s children who Geno considered his kiddos, Gabe (Butterball) and Ava (Mija). They shared a bond of deep love and commitment.
Geno's passions extended far beyond his work and family. His love for fishing, camping, and exploring was matched only by his appetite for trying new foods and embarking on travel adventures. Always eager to discover new places, Geno found joy in the journey and the stories it created. He was a lifelong learner, constantly enriching his mind and embracing new experiences with an open heart.
Friends and family will remember Geno for his infectious humor, his selfless nature, and his boundless love. He was the kind of man who could light up a room with his laughter and inspire others to see the beauty in the mundane. Geno's life was a testament to the power of positivity, and his legacy is a challenge to us all: to live fully, love deeply, and laugh often.
As we bid farewell to Eugene “Geno” Webb, let us honor his memory by embracing life with the same passion and enthusiasm he showed every day. Let us carry forward his spirit of adventure, his commitment to family and community, and his unwavering kindness. Geno's story may have reached its conclusion, but the chapters he wrote in the hearts of those he touched will continue to inspire and guide us for generations to come. The family wants to say that we loved him mucho, and we will see him next time, and our life was better with Geno (Bubba) in it.
The family will receive guests from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 31, 2025, at Porter Loring Mortuary, 1101 McCullough Avenue. A Funeral Service will take place at 12:30 p.m. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery for a 2:00 p.m. start time.
