

Eugenia (Jeanie) Ybarra born on November 15, 1934 in Bartlett, Texas went to be with the Lord on August 13, 2013 at the age of 78. Jeannie worked for Civil Services at Kelly AFB for 39 years. Retiring as a Procurement Analyst Supervisor in 1991. After retirement, she volunteered for over 25 years in many ministries and events at her St. John Berchman’s Parish community. She was involved in the Religious Education program preparing children and youth for the sacraments. She helped in church festivals, pageants, fundraisers, and served as a Eucharistic Minister. Jeannie’s greatest joy was volunteering as an administrative assistant for SJB parish the past 4 years. Her life was filled with countless acts of kindness. She constantly gave of herself emotionally and monetarily never asking for anything in return. Her acts of kindness went unnoticed because she performed then in anonymity, never yearning for credit or accolades. Her life and how she lived it served as a shining example of what we should all strive to be as Christians. She is preceded in death by parents; David and Celia Ybarra; brothers, Luis and Mucio Ybarra; sister, Agustina Y. Garcia. She is survived by her brothers, Refugio, Antonio, and Roberto Ybarra; also, numerous nephews, nieces, other relatives, and friends. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Friday August 16, 2013 at Trevino Funeral Home, 226 Cupples Rd. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. A procession will depart from the funeral home on Saturday August 17, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. for an 11:00 a.m. Mass of the Resurrection at St. John Berchmans’ Catholic Church. Interment will follow in San Fernando Cemetery No.2.
