When her family moved to San Antonio, they became parishioners of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, where Eulalia attended school, was a member of the Hijas de Maria/Child of God Association and later united in Holy Matrimony to her beloved husband, Frank Vargas Sr., on November 17, 1949. A marriage that lasted 58 years until his death in 2007.
Eulalia was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, mother, grandmother and friend, a beautiful, strong, and determined lady, who together with her husband raised nine children.
Lala being a woman of great faith, impressed upon her children the foundation of a Catholic faith, wanting only the best for all of them.
In her early years she worked for Fine Silver Mfg. where she discovered her passion for sewing and was known as the seamstress of the family and neighborhood. She sewed a variety of clothing apparel, but her favorite was the ornate dresses she sewed to dress brides and quinceaneras.
Eulalia is survived by 8 of her 9 children, Frank Jr., Edward, Maria Eulalia Juarez, Margaret, Andrew (Yvonne), Michael, Isabel Vargas (Tony Fonseca), and Florence; 8 grandchildren, Roselee Juarez (Deanna), Charles Juarez, Marc Anthony, Daniel (Shalimar), Adam, Elizabeth, John, David; numerous nieces and nephew; and Esther Hernandez, an integral part of mothers care, true family member at heart.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Felipa Angulo and Isido Lopez; brothers, Carlos Lopez, Guadalupe Lopez; sisters, Refugia Pineda, Juanita Palomo, Celistina Perez; son, Charley; and husband, Frank Vargas Sr.
The family wishes to acknowledge their appreciation and gratitude to Mrs. Sylvia Lira, for the care and support of our mother for the past five years; Guadalupe Fernandez, neighbor of over 50 years, for her friendship; St. Leo's the Great Catholic Church Legion of Mary for taking the Eucharist to her every 1st Friday; and Mr. Henry Hernandez, for bringing communion to her on Sundays.
