Evangelina S. Benavides born on June 26, 1933 in Laredo, TX went to be with the Lord on July 28, 2012 at the age of 79. She was a member of San Martin De Porres Guadalupana Society and St. Jude’s Holy Society. She is preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Benavides, Jr. and her daughter, Brenda Benavides Torres. Mrs. Benavides is survived by her children, Belinda Gutierrez (Armando Macias), Beverly Lopez (Leo), Benjamin Benavides, III (Kamara) and Liza Benavides; also, 18 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, 3 sisters, and 2 brothers. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Thursday, August 2, 2012 at Trevino Funeral Home, 226 Cupples Rd. followed by a 7:00 p.m. Rosary that same evening. A procession will depart from the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. for a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at San Martin de Porres Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
