Evelyn Miles Mrs. Tilley

Evelyn Miles Tilley departed this earth to be with the Heavenly Father on Saturday, April 28, 2018. She was born April 16, 1925, in the heart of the Mississippi Delta. She attended Central Baptist College in Conway, Arkansas, where she met the love of her life, Rudy Tilley. They were married for 56 years. Evelyn was a devoted wife and mother, lovingly supporting Rudy in his career with Kraft Foods Company. For over 50 years she taught Sunday School and was a leader in Woman's Missionary Union. Her special passion was speaking, writing, and presenting programs and plays designed to enlist support for Southern Baptist missions around the world. She has been a member of Churchill Baptist Church since 1979. In addition to a legacy of precious memories, Evelyn leaves her children and grandchildren a unique legacy in the form of her autobiography entitled Once a Sharecropper's Daughter. Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Rudy and is survived by her son, Dr. Douglas Tilley and his wife, Sheran; son, Clark Tilley and his wife, Debbie, all of San Antonio; daughter, Mary Ellen Andersen, of Little Rock, Arkansas; grandchildren, Kim and Kyle Ogden, Chris and his wife, Andrea, Lisa, Casey and his wife Amanda, Cara Prince and her husband Michael; great grandchildren, Christin, Caleb, Jaxon, Collin, Peyton, Dylan, and Reagan. The family will receive friends Friday, May 4, 2018 from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Churchill Baptist Church.
