Frances A. Van Zandt

Frances (Wilson) Van Zandt, 79, of Longview, TX, passed away Friday, August 26 as a result of a brief illness. Frances was born in Edinburg, TX on June 5, 1932. After graduating high school a year early in Edinburg and attending college in San Antonio, Frances worked in Redwood City, CA, and Houston, TX. While working in Houston, she met and married Dan Van Zandt, a professional photographer from San Antonio. They had four children, twins Don and Brian, Glen, and Sherry. Dan’s work with Kodak led them to live in NY, OK, and TX. They retired to New Braunfels, TX, and after 36 years of marriage, Frances lost the love of her life. She moved to Longview where she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, reading, shopping, playing piano, and eating really good Mexican food.

She is survived by her children and grandchildren, Zachary, Colin, Emma, Max, Benjamin, Miles, Jillian, Samuel, and Carolynn. Funeral services will be held at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel, Austin Highway, San Antonio, TX, on Friday, September 2 at 9:00 a.m.
