He was retired from the National Guard Army Reserves and Martindale Field. He was a long time member of Alzafar Shrine Golf Unit.
His daughter Deborah Long of Carrollton, TX; son Kevin W. Long of Canyon Lake, TX; grandchildren, Kayla Marie, Kelsey Michelle and Karley Madison; brother Howard F. Long and his wife Lois I. Long of San Antonio; numerous nieces and nephews survive him.
