

Frank G. Vega age 86, passed away on Tuesday, December 29, 2020. He was born in San Antonio, Texas to Francisco and Cristina Vega on May 5, 1934. He graduated from Central Catholic High School, class of 1952. Enlisted in the Air Force from July 1954-April 1958 in the photomapping field. Attended the University of Texas in Austin and graduated with a B.S. in Civil Engineering in 1961. Registered as a Public Surveyor licensed to practice in Texas. Registered as a Professional Engineer in the State of Texas in 1967. Employed as a civil engineer with The City of San Antonio Public Works Department in May 1970. In October 1975 was appointed by the City Manager to head the City’s Edwards Aquifer Protection Office. Promoted to Sewer Engineer in November 1979. Promoted to Wastewater Program Coordinator in May 1981. Promoted to Assistant City Engineer in October 1981. Appointed as Acting City Engineer by the Director of Public Works in April 1985. Appointed as City Engineer in July 1985 and held this position until his retirement in June 1996.
Frank is survived by his wife, Delia Vega; his children, Frank Alex Vega, wife Rebecca and Albert Vega; his grandchildren, Sarah Vega, Jackie Vega, Natalie Vega, Niyah Vega, Namaste Vega, Albert Joshua Vega, and fiancé Sara Lynn Feist; and great-granddaughter, Ava Vega.
