Gary was born on November 24, 1942 to Thomas Marshall and Avis Lawrence Davidson in the small town of Galena, Missouri. After graduation from Galena High School, Gary attended Southeast Missouri State and shortly afterwards entered the United States Air Force.
While in the Air Force he trained at Kessler AFB, Mississippi, as a Communication Specialist and Radio Repair Technician. He later did a tour in Korea and afterwards was reassigned to Eglin AFB, Florida.
In 1969, while in Florida, Gary’s best friend (future brother in-law) introduced him to Josie Ortega and were married on January 3, 1970. The loving couple were blessed with a son Gary Marshall Davidson.
Gary was discharged from the Air Force in 1967 and worked and retired from the FAA as a SFO manager, on December 31, 1999. During his retirement, Gary enjoyed being the “Jack of all trades” always had a story to share, and his sense of humor and his giggling laughter will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife Josie of 51 years, daughter in-law Indira Davidson and grand-daughter Mina, sister and brother in law Brenda and Gary Baker and numerous nephews, nieces, and friends.
He is predeceased by his parents, Thomas Marshall and Avis Lawrence, grandparents Bert and Bessie Lawrence and his only son Gary Marshall.
Prayer Services and viewing will be held at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home Chapel Wednesday the 12th of May from 4pm-8pm. Funeral Mass will be held Thursday the 13th of May at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church at 11:00 am.
