Gaylord William Touchstone, Jr.

He was born in San Antonio on January 27, 1940 and a graduate of Alamo Heights High School.

After Graduating he served in the United States Air Force and attended Southwest Texas State University where he met his wife.

Over the next 51 years besides being a devoted husband and father he was actively committed to an array of organizations youth, social, professional and religious. These ranged from coaching to serving on National boards. While involved in the activities he influenced, motivated and affected hundreds of lives.

He was a self made man that was respected by all who knew him. When time allowed, he would enjoy fishing, hunting, snow skiing and his Harley. His generous character allowed many to enjoy these activates by his side.

We may have lost all he was but Heaven has gained another asset.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Gaylord William Touchstone and Josephine Rodriguez; his brother, Arthur Touchstone and his beloved wife of over 50 years Barbara Ann Touchstone.

Gaylord is survived by his three sons, Gaylord William III (Trey), Trent Allen and Troy Wayne; daughter in law's, Cynthia, Rose and Ex Vanessa. Gaylord's grandchildren include Tatum Anne, Reid Allen, Ethan Alexander, Haleigh Jo Hyre, and Taylor Michael Mondick.

We find solace in knowing Gaylord is with his beloved wife, Barbara in Heaven today.

The family will receive friends at 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 7, 2017 at Porter Loring North.
