Gene Hightower Dickerson, born November 14, 1928 in Sherman, Texas to Geneva (née Wilcox) and Joseph Paul Hightower, passed away peacefully on May 14, 2014 at the age of 85 in San Antonio, Texas. She graduated from Jefferson High School and completed her Associate Degree at San Antonio College. Gene was a wonderful wife, homemaker, devoted mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her children – Donna, Rick, and Sherry Dickerson and Sandra Dickerson Goldner – grandchildren Taylor, Justin, Kyla, and Brandon Dickerson, and great-grandchildren Mia and Josh Dickerson. She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband of 64 years Durward (Dick) and grandson, Cody.
Visitation will take place from 5:00 -7:00 p.m. Sunday May 18th, at Sunset Funeral Home, The funeral service will be held at12:00 p.m. Monday May 19th, at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
