George H. Bevil

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Betty Jo Bevil; one son, George Leslie Bevil of Austin, Texas and daughter, Deborah Kay Catland of San Antonio, Texas. He also leaves seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death was his father, Burber Leslie Bevil; mother, Sallie Bevil and step-mother, Iveye Bevil; brother, Robert Noble Bevil and sisters, Imogene Hughes and Ruby Lee Jones.

George served in the US Navy during World War II, serving on the South Pacific Naval Bases of Espiritu Santo and Saipan.

After his discharge he moved to Austin where he met and married his wife. They lived in Austin where he drove a city bus, worked for Economy Furniture and the State of Texas as a long haul truck driver.

He retired in 1990 and in 1992 they moved to San Antonio to be near his daughter and grandchildren.
