George was preceded in death by his loving wife George Ann his parents Louis and Mable Bourgeois his sisters Frances, Margie and Eleanor and brothers, Tom, Bob and Louis. He is survived by his son George “Skipper” Bourgeois, Jr and wife Helen, and daughters Barbara Bourgeois Steidinger and husband Jimmie and Linda Smith and husband Tom, grandsons, US Marine Nathan Bourgeois and wife Brittany, Shawn Palmer and wife Amy and granddaughters Breanne Bourgeois and Melody McGrath and husband Brian. George Sr is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
George Sr. served honorably in the US Navy. The family has fond memories of camping trips to Canyon Lake and Granite Shoals, fishing trips to Texas City and hunting at the Lee Ranch in Helotes.
Visitation will take place at 1:00pm Friday April 4, 2014 at Sunset Funeral Home. Graveside Services will take place at 2:00pm at Sunset Memorial Park. In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hope Hospice or a charity of your choice in George’s name.
