George Murley, a retired Master Sergeant passed away on September 5, 2007. George lived a very full and complete life with his wife, Marianne, and daughter Jackie. George was the 1938 all Army Middleweight Boxing Champion who was training for the 1940 Olympics until war broke out. After World War II ended, George channeled his athletic talents in another direction and became a member of the US Army's Pistol Team becoming an expert Marksmen where he competed 11 times in the National Pistol Championships at Camp Perry in Ohio. George retired from the Army in 1967 after 33 years of service and active duty in Japan, Germany, and Korea. George also served as Shooting Coach for the US Modern Pentathlon Association for 1959 to 1967. George also served as Shooting Coach for the Antonio Women's Shooting Team, which his wife, Marianne, was also a member. George worked as a San Antonio Park Policemen for 20 years. He was a member of the Alzafar Shrine Temple. George is survived by his daughter, Jackie and his son-in-law, Jim Ford of Houston, Texas.
