Georgia passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, March 28, 2023 at the age of 69. Georgia was born in San Antonio, TX to Woody and Rose Keller. She was one of eight children. She was preceded in death by her father Woody.
Georgia is survived by her loving husband of 39 years, Casey, son Kellen, daughter-in-law Mackenzie, and grandson Kolt. Also her mother Rose, brothers Ray (Terri), Dudley (Roxanne), Donny (Marlene), Darrell (Tracey), and sisters Arlene (Huntley), Donna (Buddy), Roxane (Don) and numerous nephews and nieces.
Georgia attended St. Paul Catholic School and Thomas Jefferson High School where she was a member of the Lariats & Lassos. After her education, she worked in many industries, including insurance, banking and finally the pharmaceutical industry, where she retired after 23 years in 2018 as Senior Vice President of People Operations (Human Resources) at Mission Pharmacal Company of San Antonio, TX.
Throughout her career, Georgia attributed much of her success to hard work and the excellent people who worked with her, many of whom became close friends. One of Georgia’s greatest traits was her loyalty to her employer.
At a young age, Georgia enjoyed softball and racquetball. As she aged, those activities changed to travelling, golf, country western dancing, cooking and shopping, and for those that really knew her, Diet Coke from Whataburger. She was an avid sports fan, but one of her greatest sports memories was attending the 2019 Masters Tournament.
After retiring, Georgia and Casey travelled around the United States and parts of Canada, several different times for up to three months at a time, playing golf wherever they went.
Although she was diagnosed with numerous medical conditions, Georgia never complained and she always remained positive and joyful. She was a kind, caring person and was known for her happy and outgoing personality. The most important thing in Georgia’s life was her family, especially her one-year-old grandson, Kolt.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
The family would like to thank the entire staff, nurses and doctors of Methodist Hospital San Antonio, especially Dr. Shaleem Salam and Dr. Jairo Melo.
