

Gerald Bernard Shifrin, a resident of San Antonio and El Paso, Texas passed away on October 6, 2007. Jerry was born on August 26, 1929 in Topeka, Kansas to Irwin Shifrin and Charlotte Affron Shifrin. After moving to San Antonio he graduated from Texas Military Institute, attended Trinity University, and graduated from St. Mary's University with a degree in Jurisprudence.
He married the love of his life, Beverly Josephson of San Antonio, on September 7, 1950. Jerry was a Lieutenant in the Judge Advocate General Corps assigned to Ft. Bliss, Texas and later became County Attorney for El Paso County. He practiced general law for over forty years in El Paso and pled cases before both the Texas and United States Supreme Court before retiring in 1993.
Jerry developed an interest in high tech electronics and was one of the first attorneys to incorporate computers into his law practice. His interest in computers became a lifelong hobby.
Jerry is survived by his wife Beverly and three children; Mark Shifrin and his wife Barbara of Liberty Hill, Texas, Linda Shifrin Hadd and her husband Norman of Ft. Worth, and Scott Shifrin of Huntsville, Alabama. He has five grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Jerry was a member of the El Paso Bar Association, Texas Bar Association, Texas Trial Lawyers Association, El Paso Sherriff's Posse, El Maida Shrine and a 32nd degree Mason.
