She was born on May 6, 1924 in Waco, Texas to Connie Henry and Ruby Cumi Honeycutt.
After 36 years of dedicated employment, she retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Company in 1979.
Shortly after retirement, she opened Jerry Courtney Studio in San Antonio teaching and working in ceramics, porcelain china painting and was known for her lace draped porcelain dolls.
She also displayed her many talents in wire wrapped jewelry and was an active member of Alamo Porcelain Arts Club and Bluebonnet Porcelain Arts Club.
She also enjoyed her membership in the Red Hat Society. Jerry was a Past Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, Prospect Hill Chapter #817.
She also served in the Daughters of the Nile and Beauceant.
Survivors include her loving husband of 43 years, Wallace R.Rock Courtney; son, Lester Charles Brown of Bastrop, TX; sister, Joann Hebert and husband, Ralph of Houston, TX; brothers, Don Shaffer and wife, Beverly of Denton, TX and George Shaffer and wife, Jovell of Wichita Falls, TX; two grandchildren; two stepdaughters, one stepson and numerous nieces and nephews.
