He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He loved music and was a member of the Baltimore Colts Band for many years as well as a member of The Chorus of the Chesapeake. After retiring, he and his wife moved to San Antonio in 1994 from Alexandria, VA. He was active in the Northern Hills Community Association serving as Chairman of the Streets and Roads Committee. He was a member of Community Bible Church.
He was preceded in death by his son, Scott Glass; brother, Lee Johnson; and sister, Lillian Meyers.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Chloe Johnson; children, Gary Johnson, Doug Johnson, Sheryll Johnson, Michele Goodson, Gail Glass and Steve Glass; and 12 grandchildren.
