Gladys "Betty" Sonntag passed away on Thursday, January 17, 2013 as the result of an automobile accident. Betty was born October 10, 1922 in Mallard, Iowa. She met and married her late husband, Colonel (Ret.USAF) Willie H. Sonntag in Hobbs, New Mexico. Betty is survived by two daughters, Diane Smith and husband, Frank of Baton Rouge and Debbie Matos and husband, Hector of San Antonio, Texas; four grandchildren, Brandy D'Armond and husband, Blaine, Michael Mason and wife, Susu, Julie Lewis and Holly Mason; six great-grandchildren who blessed her life, Austin, Camille, Morgan, Maddie, Emma and Sophie. She was devoted to her family and loved ones and she will be greatly missed. At 90 years young, she was still very active. One of her favorite past times was bowling and she enjoyed the friendships in her bowling leagues.
