I am Greg's mother, Debbie, my son left an empty spot in my heart but I will always know he was a "Mama's boy". He didn't go a day without calling. He would call on his work phone sometimes while on break and share his day with me. I will always unconditionally love my son, no one is perfect and we all have our faults but a mother-son bond can never be broken. My son, to you in heaven, Remi and I pray daily and nightly. The tears haven't slow down, there isn't a day that goes by that I wish I had one more call, one more shared thought. I have loved you before you were born and will carry you in my heart forever. We all miss you terribly. Every parents prays they will never have to have their child pass before them. I’ve felt pain, anger, fear and dread. I’ve felt a sadness I didn’t know existed and have struggled to bring meaning to my son’s life and his death. As you read this, I pray you understand that losing my son is an inexplicable tragedy that should NOT have happened.
I know this was the worst news a wife should have to hear from the police. I want you to know that you are not alone. I share your grief with you. We have both had a tremendous loss, we both lost a very special person. I want you to know that you are not alone. Give the kids hugs and kisses daily and I pray you all will find peace.

I received from a friend who had read this fitting exert and passed along to me.
On the days when you feel like you could burst from anger and pain, go somewhere alone, cry it out, curse at the sky— there's nothing worse than having to fake it. Please, let yourself feel it. You've been through too much to put on a face, and healing doesn't come when we are living under a facade. You don't have to wear too much make-up to hide the tears or try to be somber at his funeral, be yourself. On the days when the world tells you to 'heal' and 'move on,' friend, healing from child loss isn't like healing from an injury. Our children were not a broken bone, they are a piece of our hearts, and now a piece of our hearts is gone. Friend, you will heal, just not in the way the world wants you to. You will breathe easier. You will ache maybe a little less, but I've heard from mommas much, much further down the road than I, the longing will never, ever, ever leave. That's the beauty and the fierceness and the strength of a mother's love, unconditional and a bond for life.

I usually am the guy with words for any situation and loved you laughing at every joke.... even the bad ones. I am struggling with words...Seemed like we just started to really get to know each other beyond a game but as men. My heart breaks for you and goes out to your family. We talked about the "old life" and how great the "new life" is.... never wanting to go back. Miss you man... You made an impact on a lot of people.... and I am one of them.

RIP my friend

Greg, you will be greatly missed by so many.

Although we only played a mobile app game and never actually met, you were always a class act and a good friend to anyone you spoke to.

I always enjoyed our chats about family, cars and how excited you were for life. You are a friend for life.

Wishing your family all the best during this challenging time. Prayers are with you all.
