

He is preceded in death by his parents, Candor and Yolanda Villarreal.
He survived by his wife of 31 years, Josie Resendiz-Villarreal; children, Claudia Perez (David), Gustavo Villarreal, Lorise Santellan and Loreen Garza (Rocky); grandchildren, Matthew Perez, Isabella Perez, Ryan Perez, Christian Villarreal, Anthoni Villarreal, Cecilee O'Connor, Cerena O'Connor, Joaquin Garcia, Clarissa Reynosa (Stephen), Alyssa Garcia and Jenna Garcia; great grandchildren, Ava Agueros, Daniel Reynosa, Joaquin Anatacio Garcia and Leah Garcia; siblings, Sylvia Ruiz, Sonya Moran, Maria Estella Robles, Bertha Zapata, Javier Villarreal, Sergio Villarreal, Oscar Villarreal, Candor Villarreal Jr., Victor Villarreal.
He worked at American National Insurance until 1991. Then briefly at Adolfos Furniture, then Warehouse Furniture as a salesman until he retired in 2015. Gustavo enjoyed Mariachi Music, Vicente Fernandez, watching old Western Movies and spending time with his family on barbecue Sundays. He also took pride in manicuring his yard, his car and his home.
A visitation for Gustavo will be held Tuesday, March 8, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM Trevino Funeral Home with a rosary to be recited at 6:00 PM. A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 9, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Resurrection of the Lord Church, with interment to follow at San Jose Burial Park.
