

After high school Hal enlisted in the United States Coast Guard serving aboard the CGC Cahoone stationed in Sitka, Alaska. After the Coast Guard he attended Portland State University and received a bachelors degree in chemistry. Following college he worked for the Federal Government beginning with General Services Administration (GSA) and after 35 years ended his career with the Department of Energy (DOE). Hal had a love for the game of baseball. He played for various teams over the years even playing on teams as an adult. Over the years he coached his childrens sports teams and enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports. After his retirement Hal enjoyed fishing, Las Vegas, spending time with family and road tripping with his wife who he shared his life with for over 30 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jefferson and Ruth Davis; brothers, Donald, Russell, and Gordon; and grandson, Jeremiah. He is survived by his wife, Verla; daughters, Sheri Tucker, Tonna Owen (Kenny), Tina Martin, Kristie Kelley (Sean); son, Mike (Barbie); 13 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren (with another on the way); and numerous nieces and nephews and brother and sisters-in-law.
