

service to his country with over twenty years as an instructor at the Defense Language Institute. Upon his retirement due to medical complications incurred during the Viet-Nam conflict, he pursued his interests in photography, history, reading, and botany. His days were spent in the company of his beloved pets. He is survived by his loving wife Darlene D. Neal; his precious son Cory M. Neal, his adored daughter-in-law Misti of San Antonio; additional family survivors include his parents ; sister Mary Helen Craft and husband Sidney ; brother James K. Neal and wife Lisa; sisters-in-law Sandye Muncy and husband Gary of Chesterfield, Missouri; Michele Cash and husband P.W. Cash of Wentzville, Missouri and brother-in-law Bill Farnum of Akron, Ohio; nephews are Matt and Sean Muncy; nieces Kelly Muncy and Avery Neal. Among his many friends are Ron Weed; Howard Cornelson; Jim Smith; Gloria Chaney; Pat Richardson; Michelle DiGiacomo; and faithful companion Oso, his dog. He was a member of many organizations, including Phi Alpha Theta; the Friends of the McNay; the San Antonio Symphony League; the Ft. Sam Houston Preservation Society; the Humane Society; the Texas-Exes; and the Disabled American Veterans.
