Hector Fernandez Sr. age 90, passed away July 30, 2012. He was born on December 20, 1921 in San Antonio, TX to Isaias and Florinda Fernandez. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife Amparo Fernandez. He is survived by his children, Elvia F. Ripley and husband Maurice, Hector Fernandez Jr. and Eddie T. Fernandez; grandchildren, Maurico E.Ripley, Felicia A. Fernandez, Chelsea L. Fernandez and Leo E. Fernandez; great grandchildren, Mauryssa Ripley, Lindsay Gonzalez, Dominic Cortez and Dillan Cortez; sisters, Ofelia Paine and Oralia Tarasuk; brothers, Edward Fernandez and wife Mary, Henry Fernandez; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family and pet companion, “Buddy”. Visitation will be at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home on Bandera Road on Wednesday, August 1, 2012 from 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M with a rosary at 7:00 P.M. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, August 2, 2012 at St. Dominic Catholic Church, 5919 Ingram Road. Interment will be at 9:00 A.M. on Friday, August 3, 2012 at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with Air Force military honors.
