Helen Therese (Bolger) Meznarich died peacefully in her sleep on August 27, 2014 at age 83. She was a victim of small cell cancer. Helen was born in Guelph, Ontario, Canada on February 19, 1931. She married Edward Meznarich on October 24, 1953. They had three children and six grandchildren. She was the only child of William and Amanda Bolger. After finishing high school she moved to Chicago in 1951 where she met Ed Meznarich. They were married in 1953 and, because Ed was in the Air Force, they lived in many different places throughout their life together, including the Azores. In 1959, Helen became a naturalized US citizen but she never lost her love for Canada and all things Canadian.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Meznarich and her parents, William and Amanda Bolger. Helen is survived by her sons, David (Marisa), William (Helen), Andrew (Kim) all of San Antonio, Tx; and six grandchildren, Lauren, William (Jennifer), Kristopher, Ashley (Dan), Kevin and Lindsey. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Sofia Meznarich and numerous first cousins.
Helen is fondly remembered by her many friends from Brooks AFB Officers Club where she worked for many years. The family wishes to thank the staff at Park Lane West and Altus Hospice for their loving care during Helen’s Illness.
