Henrietta Louise Redepenning, age 75, passed away February 18, 2010. She was born in San Antonio January 26, 1935. She was the first born of seven beautiful sisters raised by loving parents Henry and Dorothy Sievers.
During high school Henrietta met Charles Redepenning, who had moved to San Antonio for his first tour in the Air Force. They soon embarked on a lifelong adventure that produced 49 wonderful years of marriage, four happily married children, eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Henrietta's "Air Force" marriage took the family to Florida, Turkey, Nevada, Japan, D.C., Panama, and then back to San Antonio.
Henrietta's greatest passions were her family and her faith. Her sisters Helen, Kay, Ruthie, Mary Ellen, Corine and Dottie were also her best friends. She was always there for her husband and children, making sure they had everything they needed before attending to herself.
She was a tireless adventurer, making sure her family left the base and explored every sight to see wherever they were stationed.
Henrietta was a tax preparer by trade, and her main hobbies were art and music. Her graceful hands produced beautiful paintings in oil and sublime music from her piano.
Henrietta was a devout servant of Jesus. She was an active member of St. Helena's Catholic Church for the past 32 years. Over that time she served as organist, offering counter, and Eucharistic Minister to churchgoers, hospital patients and the homebound sick who couldn't attend church. She was a volunteer at the SAMMS ministry to the needy. She taught English at the university in Ankara, Turkey, and to business executives in Japan.
Henrietta lived life to the fullest, and every person who came near her was filled with the warmth of her giving nature and her uncontainable love.
She is survived by daughter Kathi Dooley and husband Sean and children Erin and Ian and grandchildren Trinity and Lorelei of San Antonio, son Charles Redepenning, Jr. and wife Kay and children Libby and Charlie of Concord, MA, daughter Roxanne Barnett and husband John and daughters Lauren and Samantha Fisk of San Antonio, and son Scott Redepenning and wife Allison and children Molly and Collin of Houston. She is also survived by her six sisters and an extended family of in-laws, nieces and nephews numbering in the hundreds. Viewing will begin at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, February 23, at Porter Loring Mortuary North.
