Henry Wilhelm Steinbarth, of San Antonio, passed away at home on Friday, January 4, 2019 at the age of 80. He was born on February 8, 1938 in Fort Worth, Texas to the late Heinrich Wilhelm Steinbarth and Marie Belle Brown. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for twelve years from
1958-1969. Hank married Obdulia (Lula) Castro in 1969 and together they celebrated 49 years of commitment and marriage.
He enjoyed flying planes, riding motorcycles, freshwater fishing, and traveling around the world doing the work he loved.
He is preceded in death by his sisters Mina Fuqua, Lucille Dybwad, and Katy Landers as well as his son Michael Steinbarth. He is survived by his beloved wife, Lula Castro Steinbarth, originally of Del Rio, TX and his sons Brent, Scott, and Rick Steinbarth.
Family is receiving friends on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 from 3:00 pm to 4:30 pm, at the Funeral Home. Visitation with family will continue at the Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at 9:00 am. Funeral services will be conducted in the Funeral Home Chapel at 10:00 am. The family will be hosting a reception immediately following the Funeral service at 11:00 am.
Graveside services with Air Force Military Honors will be conducted at 1:45 pm at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at shelter number five.
An early dinner will be shared with friends and family at Brent and Valerie’s house following the interment.
