"Juno", as he was affectionately called by family, was born December 13, 1928 in San Antonio to Hans and Mayme Tripp. Hank loved people! He was a friend to everyone he met and relished having a good time and seeing that everyone around him was happy. Besides his unconditional love for his wife Flo and his family, he loved dancing and was always the first one on the dance floor. He also enjoyed playing cards, dominoes, golf and extensive traveling.
Hank held a special place in his heart for all his friends in the Silver Stars of St. Francis of Assisi Seniors, the Men's Club, the Rosary Society and his poker playing buddies. He was also an active member of the Elks Club and Hermann Sons Pershing Lodge.
Hank retired from the US Postal Service as an Area Manager with 38 years of service. He was influential in guiding many people in the advancement of their careers and was always known as a man of integrity, fairness and honesty. He served as President for both the Local and Texas State Branch of the National Association of Postal Supervisors (NAPS), and enjoyed the many lasting friendships built throughout his career. Hank was very proud to have served and retired as 1st Sgt from the Texas Army National Guard, 36th Division, Artillery, and he swelled with a great sense of pride and patriotism when he would visit Fort Sam Houston.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Harry McKaig and Col. Robert McKaig.
He is survived by his wife of 62 wonderful and loving years, Florence (Flo) Tripp; daughters, Patti Hass (Henry) and Peggy Tripp; son, Steven Tripp (Regina); three grandchildren, Mallori Hass, Christopher Tripp (Stephanie), Kyle Tripp (Jennifer); two great-grandchildren, Landon and Caden Tripp; two sisters, Mary Ellen Kruger (Richard) and Flora Mae Hankinson (Everett); three sisters-in-law, many nieces, nephews and friends.
