

Hermerejildo "Herman" Rocha, 73, passed away in his home in San Antonio on Monday, March 25, 2024. He was born to Geronima and Francisco Rocha on June 5, 1950 in Garden City, Kansas. After high school, he joined the United States Army and proudly served his country for over 20 years. He served in Vietnam, receiving a purple heart, then later toured in Germany and South Korea where he met his wife.
He is survived by his loving, caring wife of nearly 37 years, Yonhui; children Rebecca (Oscar) Rocha-Chavez, and Frank Rocha; and granddaughter Elena. He is also survived by three siblings: Trini, Virginia, and Armando. He is preceded in death by his parents as well as his brothers Osvaldo and Moises. Herman was also preceded in death by his faithful pup of 16 years, his "shadow", Minnie.
In his retirement, he enjoyed spending time with his family; watching sports with his kids, and naps with his pups Minnie and Lucy. He loved his grandsons Evan and Gavin (Pete and Vickie Villanueva) and watching them grow. He also enjoyed the friendships and community he had at the Eisenhauer Market with his wife.
More than anything Herman loved his family. He was a loving husband, supportive father, proud papa, and friend to many.
Visitation will begin on Thursday April 11, 2024 at 10:00 am at Sunset Funeral Home, 1701 Austin Hwy., San Antonio, Texas.
Funeral services will follow at 12:30pm at Sunset Memorial with interment to follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
