

During the Depression he joined the Civilian Conservation Corp. In 1940, he trained horses in the Armys 1st Calvary Division and was a Sergeant for the 91st Infantry. In W.W. II, he received the Silver Star and Bronze Star for gallantry action among other awards. I.G. retired from Kelly Air Force Base with 39 years of service.
He also served with Bexar County Sheriffs Reserve for 24 years, the Constable Reserve Precinct 1, 3, and 4. He was a member of Grace Baptist Temple, Masonic Order, Scottish Rite Bodies, and the Alzafar Shrine Patrol. He was chairman in 1993 for the 361st Infantry Assn. W.W. II Reunion and elected President in 2007. One of his many hobbies included bee keeping.
Mr. Prieto was preceded in death by his brothers, Guadalupe and Geronimo Prieto; and by his sisters, Alicia Padron, Carmen Garcia, Alejandra Zuniga and Maria Ruiz. He is survived by Eva S. Prieto his wife of 59 years; daughters, Ramona OConnell and husband, Dan of Austin, TX, Priscilla Moore and husband Richard of Boerne, TX; grandsons, Richard Moore III, Robert Moore and Kevin OConnell; brother, Concepcion; sister, Susie Ortiz; and numerous nieces and nephews.
