

Ida M. Benedetti Ferrell, born November 11, 1922 in Wilkesberre, PA. passed away February 4, 2011 in San Antonio, TX. She married John D. Ferrell on September 22, 1945, then moved to Oak Hill Drive in Middletown, PA. in 1950. Ida served in the Middletown City Council and earned a lifetime membership in the Parents Teachers Students Association. The family moved to San Antonio June 1966. Ida loved helping children. Oak Hills Presbyterian church recognized her for 25 years of service and issued her a certificate from Governor George W. Bush for her commitment to helping young people. She and her husband John also received an invitation from George Bush to attend his 1st inauguration. Her husband, John and a son, Rob preceded her in death. She is survived by her sons, John Ferrell Jr. and his wife Ona, Craig Ferrell and his fiancé, Nola; grandchildren, Lisa Ferrell, Dawn Ramzinski and her husband Darin, Jimmy Ferrell. Sister,Ann Andrews; numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home on Bandera Road on Wednesday, February 9, 2011 from 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. with a rosary at 7:00 P.M. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, February 10, 2011 at St. Dominic Catholic Church, 5919 Ingram Road with Rev. Eric Ritter officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children Hospital.
