Born in Nordheim, Texas, Inez lived an inspiring life that spanned over a century. She witnessed profound historical changes and touched countless lives with her wisdom, warmth, and kindness. Inez had a fulfilling career as a dedicated elementary school teacher for over 30 years, positively influencing generations of young minds through her passion for education and learning.
Inez was also known for her strong faith and active participation in her church community. She was a lifelong member of Shepherd King Lutheran Church in San Antonio, Texas, where her compassion, generosity, and steadfast commitment to her community left a lasting impression on all who knew her. Her life was characterized by unwavering resilience, kindness, and a gentle spirit that radiated love.
She was married to Ivie Milton Klaeveman, her high school sweetheart, who preceded her in death in 2008. Over their 67 years of marriage, they built a loving family in San Antonio, Texas. Inez was also preceded in death by her only son, Ivie James (“Jim”) Klaeveman. After Jim's passing in 2011, Inez moved to Dallas, where her daughter Jane lovingly cared for her. She is survived by that devoted daughter, Jane Beneke, and son-in-law, Ron Beneke; her grandchildren, Brian, Mark, and Alex Beneke; Ivy Oliver and her husband, Patrick Oliver; and Carli Arnold and her husband, Andrew Arnold. She also leaves behind her beloved great-grandchildren: Mason and Carson Oliver, and Cameron and Claire Arnold.
Inez served as a living connection between generations. Her remarkable journey left a legacy of love, often summed up in her favorite quote from George Sand: “There is only one happiness in life—to love and be loved.” She enjoyed that happiness and shared it generously.
A memorial celebrating Inez’s extraordinary life will be held in a family graveside service in Nordheim, where she will rest beside the love of her life, Ivie Milton Klaeveman. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Shepherd King Lutheran Church in San Antonio or to a charity of your choice, in her honor.
